I have a filesystem on /dev/hda7 witch I want the user bjerre (uid=1000) to be able to read and write to. No other users except root should be able to do this.
How do I configure my /etc/fstab ? |

It depends what FS type you have - syntax differs a bit between these.

AFAIK Linux kernel doesn't fully support writing to NTFS - you have to use third party software.

This is how I have my ntfs partition mounted for one user:
Code: |
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/music ntfs noauto,users,owner,uid=1000,gid=100,async,ro 0 0
|
i mount mine to /mnt/music (guess what i put on there )
should be the same for you.
And as Rav70 pointed out NTFS is generally read-only. There is experimental support for writing in some kernels (all?) but it only does very basic operations. |
