Well, I don't know what's wrong, so here I go:

I followed the guide, chrooted, and when I tried to bootstrap, this happened:

(the "Nothing to be done" is maybe coming up because I tried it two times)

This is the output:
Code:

....
make[1]: Entering directory 'var/temp/portage/ncurses-5.4-r1/work/ncurses-5.4/misc'
make[1]: Nothing to be done
make[1]: Leaving directory 'var/temp/portage/ncurses-5.4-r1/work/ncurses-5.4/misc'
cd c++ && make DESTDIR="" all
make[1]: Entering directory 'var/temp/portage/ncurses-5.4-r1/work/ncurses-5.4/c++'
cd ../obj_s; /usr/bin/g++ -I../c++ -I../include -I. DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../include -D_GNU_SOURCE -DNDEBUG x -march=i686 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -fPIC -c ../c++/cursesf.cc
g++: x: No such file or directory
I../include -D_GNU_SOURCE -DNDEBUG x -march=i686 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -fPIC -c ../c++/cursesm.cc
g++: x: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [../obj_s/cursesf.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make[1]: *** [../obj_s/cursesf.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory 'var/temp/portage/ncurses-5.4-r1/work/ncurses-5.4/c++'
make: *** [all] Error 2

!!! Error: sys-libs/ncurses-5.4-r1 failed.
!!! Function: sry_compile, Line 75, Exitcode 2
!!! make failed

Any ideas how I can get it to work?
Is it a problem to run the script a second time (3rd, 4th) with different make.conf settings (this time I didn't change anything)?
Any more info you need?
Since it has been running for quite a while (1 hour or so), is it possible to continue where it left?

This is a Dell Laptop, Pentium M, 1.5 GigH, the linux partition has 8 GB...

Ex_Cyber on IRC got me to it.

I must have hit x instead of ctrl x in Nano once, and that x placed itself right in front of the cxx flag....

So thanks Ex_Cyber, sry for the bothering everyone else
