How are you testing it?

If you've chosen bad mirrors for portage (or haven't chosen mirrors at all), then package downloads will be slow...

Run:

Code:

mirrorselect -a -s4 -o

And it will (after a while) suggest a line: GENTOO_MIRRORS="...".

Add that line to /etc/make.conf.

But Ihave the following errror:

# mirrorselect -a -s4 -o
Downloading a list of mirrors...
Removing IPV6 Only Servers...
Running netselect to determine mirrors, this might take a moment...
No mirrors have been selected. Exiting.

Try doing 'mirrorselect -i' instead, and choosing some mirrors that are geographically close to you. Again the results should go in /etc/make.conf.
