i didn't add a nic moduel durning installation and now i get this error
Code: | eth0 p via DHCP [!!]
Error: Problem starting needed Services
"netmount" was not started.

I do not know which moduel to add but the livecd detects it with no problem is there a way to find out what moduel its uses so that i can install that one? _________________ For my linux info

After booting using the gentoo cd, type lsmod (or /sbin/lsmod) and look through of the list of modules. If you don't recognize it, google might help, or post the output of lsmod here so someone can tell you which one is the nic driver. |

According to a post on the LinuxQuestions.org site, the module is called 8139too.
In case you don't know, add this module name to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4 (or 2.6, depending on the kernel you use). But first, to test if it works, try "modprobe 8139too" or "insmod 8139too" as root (some modules I've found only work with insmod). |
