E configurado mi tarjeta de sonido con alsaconf y me voy al centro de control y le doy a probar sonido y me funciona pero ahora pongo todo vien con el alsamixer. Entonces intento reproducir algo con el xmms y me sale una ventana llamada couldn'open audio diciendo esto:

Your soundcard is configured properly

No other program is blocking the s oundcard |

Pues checa en el xmms en Preferencias, le das en Opciones, Preferencias, Plugins de E/S de audio, ahí escoges otro del que tienes, dependiendo de como lo hayas configurado te saldran mas o menos.
