AT work, our windows network, we have a y: drive mapped and we store all our files there, its a server not in the office. I was wondering how they did that, or I wanted to know the idea or concept of it, so I can try it in nix. |

The server might not be in the office but for sure it is reachable via the network. In a pure *nix environment you would use NFS for similar effects, in a mixed Microsoft - *nix environment look into samba. |

so what would I have to google, what keyword/s to find out how to do this? |
