|
|
I've got three small questions about flux which I need help with and I can't seem to find any answers for with search.
1) fbsetbg -l ~/images/wallpaper.jpg crashes my flux when used with xcompmgr -c. The same thing happens when I edit my ~/.fluxbox/init file with session.screen0.rootCommand: fbsetbg -l ~/images/wallpaper.jpg.
2) How do I change nautilus's icons? In Gnome all I'de have to goto is themes, gtk-chtheme only allows for controls etc to be changed but I'm left with the default icons.
3) How do I run xcompmgr when X loads. I guessed it must be with ~/.xinitrc file, but wasn't sure. ( SOLVED ... edit the rootCommand)
Thanks for your time.[/b]

xcompmgr is still really buggy. If you are having problems then I would advise against using it for now. |

Well wallpapers aren't a trivial thing. It's not like you lose features by not using xcompmgr, you just don't gain any features. There is a reason all this new stuff is disabled by default afterall. |

you're right, I'm just hoping someone knows a work around if this is a known problem.
Secondly, i've been google'ing howto change nautilus's icons but none of the links have been useful to me. Anyone know howto change the icons from another WM aside gnome... |

I was having problems too until I unmerged flux from gentoo and went to http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/ and downloaded the CVS version. It fixed all my problems AND also now has a transparency option for windows. No need to run transset anymore. You can even specify the level of transparency.
Look at this screen shot

Really cool Stuff |
