Asus - Driver Audio chip integrato

Sempre Salve,

Ecco.. vorrei sistemare il reparto audio sulla gentoo..

la scheda madre ha un chip integrato, la scheda madre è una ASUS P4C800Deluxe...

Ho scaricato i driver.. e leggendo la guida per l'installazione, scrivono questo:

1)You must have full configured source for the Linux kernel which you
want to use for the ALSA drivers. Note that ALSA drivers are part
of the kernel, so there is necessary to resolve all symbol dependencies
between the used kernel and ALSA driver code. Partly installed kernels
(for example from distributor makers) can be unuseable for this action.
2) You must turn on sound support (soundcore module).

Come faccio a capire se il punto 1 è corretto? (ho usato genkernel per la compilazione) e caricare il modulo del punto 2 (che in effetti non mi sembra esista)....

si.. ho anche installato alsautils.. proprio adesso...
