I would really appreciate it if somebody can help me figure out why these things happen. I don't have these problems in windows but on linux it's bad!!
basically there are 2 major problems:
1. when I use mplayer to play music videos off my hard drive everything's fine until I start dragging windows around the screen. once I do that mplayer stops playing until I stop dragging windows.
using -vo xv and -ao oss
also, when playing certain files, frame would just freeze at one of them but music keeps on playing... that's also very very annoying.
2. UT2004 works so well with default settings under windows, under linux I have to turn everything OFF for it to be even playable.
3D acceleration is working since I can play tribes 2 but what else's missing?
my system:
P4 1.9
ATI AIW 7500
running XFCE |

yea ati needs to release the specs on the older cards 8500 and below so people can write proper drivers for them. |
