|
|
I have a Fujitsu N5010 laptop running 2.6.7-gentoo-r11 and every time I attempt to boot the laptop without the AC adapter plugged in I get a Kernel Panic. Once I plug in the adapter, it boots just fine 100% of the time. Without the adapter, it spits out the below call trace and dies 100% of the time.
The laptop is a 3.2Ghz P4, Hyperthreading, 800Mhz FSB, 1GB RAM. I am running all of the power management stuff in the kernel and while running and unplugging the AC adapter I get the proper indications (both in X and by catting the /proc system) that the adapter is eiither there or not.
Everything happens very quickly - but here is the last part of the output that I am able to catch:
CALL TRACE
cpufreq_p4_target
sys_framovexattr
_cpufreq_driver_target
handle_update
call_console_drivers
sysdev_driver_register
do_initcalls
init
init
kernel_thread_helper
Code 89 42 18 83 c4 0c eb c2 90 8d 74 26 00 a1 60 7f 50 c0 31 d2
<0> Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill init!
Any one seen similar or may have some ides to try..?
Thanks
