I am having a big problem with a new install. After boot up my keyboard no longer works.
I decided to make the plunge into reiser4 and gcc3.4. So I grabbed the reiser4 cd that has been floating around on the forums and followed the install guide (this is not my first install, I have been using Gentoo fine for quite a while). I used udev, and the mm-sources kernel. After the bootstrap I switched profiles to gcc 3.4, and emerged the system and mm-sources kernel. Everything compiled perfectly, but when I try to boot into the new system I am unable to login because the keyboard doesnt work. I never had this problem before.
Does anyone have any ides?
Thanks,
Brandon

Same here. I'm using a Logitech keyboard. The problem appeared after an upgrade from my old p4 to the newer p4 socket 775 with intel 915p. The problem suddenly disappeared when i tried another keyboard. Now the system works even with the Logitech one. |

Well I solved my problem by switching kernels. I was using the latest mm-sources, but now I switched to love-sources-2.6.9-rc1-love2 because I need reiser4 support. Everything works great now!
For the record in case this happens to anyone else, I was using a microsoft wireless optical desktop keyboard and it was plugged into the ps/2 port NOT the USB port. |
