Running gentoo 2004.2 on via c3 600 Mini-itx.

Grub comes up, with bootsplash and everything, but the pc won't boot.

:( When i hit enter the pc tries to boot, and after a second the pc reboots.

What image you downloaded? There are several options, some more generic and others more specific. The more specific are optimized for one processor type and they aren't meant to be used on other.

Are we talkiing boot from the liveCD or booting a newly installed system?

If you are trying to boot from an installed system, it would help to know your patitions and your grub.conf.

It's a installed system.

/dev/hda1 boot
/dev/hda2 swap
/dev/hda3 root
/dev/hda5 usr
/dev/hda6 var
/dev/hda7 var/lib/mysql
/dev/hda8 tmp
/dev/hda9 var/www
/dev/hda10 /home

grub.conf

timeout 30
default 0
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

title=Gentoo Linux 2004.2 2.4.26 tuxbox.linuxportalen.net
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/linux-2.4.26 root=/dev/hda3 vga=788

The system is built with hardened use flags, and the kernel has the grsecurity patch and it's set to high.

I have the same setup on a p4 2.4 and that works like a charm.

It's just that via machine.
