When I start up KDE (when I log in) the KDE splash screen starts up on my left monitor (the secondary monitor).
I would like the splash screen as well as all my apps to start up on the right monitor instead of the left.
The left monitor is powered my a nvidia pci card and the right is a agp nvidia card (both with the closed source nvidia driver)
Xinerama is enabled. |

Would not changing your XF86Config from "right of" to "left of" (or vice versa)
do the trick? |

I need to keep the hardware the way it is now... I'm using one flat panel display (18" SGI 151 TFT) and one CRT (SGI Trinitron 24") I need to keep the flat panel "left of" the crt. |

I'm not sure of any way to force the Splash Screen to start up on a specific monitor, but KDE 3.3 includes a "Remember Window Settings" feature that you could use to make all of your windows remember to appear on the right side monitor.
However, the better solution is probably to work with your X config file and modify the screen layout that way. You won't be changing how the monitors are hooked up or arranged on your desk, just which one that X thinks is the main display, and which monitor it should be on. I haven't dealt with muli-monitor setups in X set, so your best bet might be to search the forums a bit.
Hope that helps you out a bit. |

Have you tried without Xinerama? Then things will start on whichever display you launch them from, unless you use the DISPLAY variable. _________________ If your question was answered, please edit the first post and add [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks! |
