In the package gentoo-artwork there is an offensive image. The file name is gentoo-revolution-1024x768.png and it reproduces the portraits of Lenin, Fidel Castro and Ernesto "Che" Guevara. It is my opinion that this is very offensive image because of the atrocities that the individuals above mentioned caused to people of many countries.
I think that that image has to be eliminated from the package or, at least, that the flag offensive has to be enabled so that if someone doesn't want to install it, he doesn't have to.
The most important ideal of the Gentoo community is the freedom of choice, the same freedom that those criminals denied (and still deny) to millions of man. Having on our desktops the portraits of peoples responsibles of such genocides is a disrespectful act towards the men and women that could never express their opinion because of that criminals, such a thing that we Gentooists can do every day through this forum.
Can we point it out to the gentoo-artwork package maintainers? |
