Hi all,

Downloaded movie "Cross of iron" via bittorrent and now, I don't know how to play it. In meantime, I recompiled mplayer with +dvd and +dvdread USE flags but that didn't helped.

Directory where movie resides is full with files like this:

Code:
cross.of.iron.cd1.1976.dvdrip.xvid-knark.r00
cross.of.iron.cd1.1976.dvdrip.xvid-knark.r01
...
cross.of.iron.cd1.1976.dvdrip.xvid-knark.r48

cross.of.iron.cd1.1976.dvdrip.xvid-knark.rar
cross.of.iron.cd1.1976.dvdrip.xvid-knark.sfv

Mplayer says "No stream found..."
Are those rar compressed files or some dvd format that I can use out of the box without uncompressing externally via command line.

Help needed on this.

Please be aware this would, obviously, be illegal to do so you must have the original (I say this as Gentoo can't be involved in stuff like this and this thread will probably be locked anyway).

However, assuming it is a backup, it needs unrar'ing. Unrar the file ending in .rar and it will find the rest of the connected files producing a cue/bin or avi, etc.

Code:
emerge unrar;

Code:
unrar e file.rar
solves this and produces avi file ;)

Yes, you are right. It has nothing to do with gentoo, I agree.
