Hi there. Some noob (to Gentoo) questions for ya!
First off, I notice that Zebra (a good, but getting stale) dynamic router has been masked off. Assuming Zebra and Gentoo don't entirely mix, are there any good dynamic routers for Gentoo out there? In particular, I need one that supports OSPF.
Second, at some later date I'd like to add multicasting. (Yeah, I know, good luck finding someone who'll provide a feed.) I know that PIMv2 is the preferred protocol for routing multicast traffic, these days. However, the only router I know that supports PIM (pimd) is not so much stale as turning green with mould. Again, any help would be much appreciated.
In both cases, I'd prefer something that works with Gentoo's "emerge" (keeps the database tidy) but if I have to download, I'll survive. |

You could always get down and dirty and write one yourself with iptables. There's HOWTO's all around the net, and there's a home router howto on gentoo.org to get you started. _________________ Nothing can stop me now, cuz I just don't care. |
