Slainte all,
I'm having a rather strange problem with the login screen. The text is displaying at such a small size that I am completely unable to read it.
For the last couple of days since I completed the installation I haven't worried about this too much, but I am now (for unrelated reasons) unable to log in as my primary identity and I can't read the error message because it is so tiny.
In a possibly related issue, I am unable to change the login screen theme, I can select 'circles' or 'gnome' but it will only display the Gentoo cow.
Any ideas why the text on the login screen is so small, and how I can fix it?
Thanks. |

Have you tried using xdm as your login manager rather than gdm? I know thats not the solution your looking for but its a work around, maybe then youll be able to get logged in at least. Either that or boot to rl3. _________________ The realOTW: http://forums.realotw.org/index.php

I guess it has something to do with the DDC (Display Data Channel). This channel is used by XOrg/XFree to obtain the monitor specifications. The solution is to turn it off in /etc/xorg.conf or /etc/XF86Config (depending on what you use):
Code: |
# ...
Section "Device"
Option NoDDC

I hope that helps... _________________ Unix philosophy: "Do one thing and do it well."
