|
|
Very quick question, perhaps others have thought about this as well.
My router does NAT and blocks basic ports as 21, 80 and ICMP etc this is however not a true firewall.
How secure is this? Technically how easy/hard would is be for a person to connect to a client behind a NAT based router?
Silly question perhaps? TIA. _________________ Linux user 327411. Go get counted! |

You can't connect to a client behind a NAT router at all, if it's properly configured (i.e. it knows which side is the internet and which side it's supposed to be doing NAT for). Even if it wasn't, it'd be pretty hard, since there's no sensible way to refer to machines on the local network from outside. _________________ If your question was answered, please edit the first post and add [SOLVED] to the title.
