hdparm + Promise ATA controller

Okay, I know this may seem crazy, and I'm not bitching, but hdparm, when invoked with "hdparm -tT /dev/hde" on my server, gives an outrageous result for timed disk reads. Anywhere from 48-ish to 53-ish MB/s. Is this normal?? Did the Promise code in the 2.6.7 kernel get tweaked??

Just a warning, it's a huge image, that way no image quality was lost.
