I've installed fluxbox and it's great. However, hmm, I can't seem to figure out how I am supposed to do something like this: say I have 5 windows (applications) on my desktop (I only use one workspace) and they're all maximized. Now, I want to launch something else through the right-click menu. here's how I do it:
1) Minimize all the five applications, one by one, and then I finally get to the desktop and can right-click on it,
2) I right-click on the little space that is left on both sides of the taskbar. But what if my taskbar were 100% wide and not 66%? It wouldn't work...
I guess I'm doing it all wrong ,so if some fluxbox guru could point me to the proper way, I'd appreciate it. |

some solutions:
1) tab the windows ( drag & drop a window inside another window with the mouse button2 )
2) key bindings _________________ linux: #232767 |

Thanks for the reply. Who knows, it might even work, i'll try it . So far I haven't really (really = at all) managed to find out what this window-tabbing is about, all I though about was looking for some "Show Desktop" equivalent. |

In Openbox, I can create keyboard shortcuts by changing the ~.config/openbox/rc.xml file. For example, I could create a section like
Code: | <keyboard>
<keybind key="A-space">
<action name="ShowMenu"><menu>root-menu</menu></action>
</keybind>
</keyboard> |
Of course, since a similiar line already exists, I can just edit it to match what I want, too. I don't have any particular Fluxbox experience to guide me or to know if a similar thing exists. _________________ "No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious" -- George Bernard Shaw |

Here ya go: add the following line to your "~/.fluxbox/keys" file:
Then you can hit [Alt + m] to bring up your menu _________________ if knowledge is power, then knowledge shared is a loss |

If you have the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, there should be a little strip of the naked desktop on either side of the taskbar, even if you have maximized windows. I usually just right-click down there to get the menu. _________________ aaarggghhhh.
