I get this when I try to add files to my library in Rhythmbox. These mp3s all work fine in Muine and XMMS. UTF-8 is a character set right? So this means there are some characters in a different char set in some of my mp3's namse, and it's cause Rhythmbox to crash?

Is there anything that can search through my whole mp3 collection and convert everything to utf-8 for me? Is this even going to solve my problem?

I get this error 3 times, then it just says Killed. I open it again and try adding my mp3 folder again, and I get a few more files, then it gets killed again. I get a few more files each time until I max out at 543 files, which is about 1/10 of my collection.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's a gtk problem i think. At least for me.
I have hundreds of warnings whenever i use gtk apps
(Failed iso8859-15 to UTF-8 conversion) or something like that. I would really like to know when will they fix this.

I get those sometimes too, but they don't usually effect the program like this does.

Rhythmbox is completely useless to me like this.

For anyone that cares, I found the solution.

Turns out the UTF-8 warning don't matter in this program any more than they do in the others. I had wmas in my mp3 directory. Move *.wma out of the dir, and all is well. Such a simple fix. *sigh*
