Hi All,
I was struggling to get my Nvidia card working properly and in my frustration decided to try removing some of the open GL libraries and starting from scratch. This was dumb since I'm pretty ignorant about the graphics drivers, X configuration, etc, but the alternative was going back to Suse or something. Anyway, I've finally got things working well enough, but now I realize I shot myself in the foot. Whenever I try to run anything (glxgears, glxinfo, chromium) I'm told that one of the files I deleted is missing.

D'oh!
So my question is what do I need to do to recompile this library?

You'll have to recompile your xwindow implementation it seems. I get that idea from this.

| If Xorg is what you are using, then yes. If you're using Xfree86 then don't be afraid to switch. lol |

Okay, I re-emerged xorg-x11 and I see some improvement. There's something still wonky with GLX though. glxinfo claims that direct rendering is disabled, but glxgears pops up the demo and runs. Chromium dies with "Couldn't set GL mode: X11 driver not configured with OpenGL"
