DWL-122 wireless bonnection on boot and plugin?

I have followed Julian Coccia's HOWTO and have finally gotten my DWL-122 working with gentoo. However, the interface only comes up after I type:

ifconfig wlan0 192.168.1.205 netmask 255.255.255.0
route add -net default gw 192.168.1.1

I would like for the wireless connection to be made upon boot and also when I plug in the wireless adapter. I notice that hotplug does recognise the adapter whenever I plug in the DWL-122 but it does not make the wireless connection.

I realize that I may have to place the above two lines into a script somewhere but I am not sure where.

Any help would be appreciated.
