i've got an interesting problem that only surfaced when i upgraded to kde 3.3. i am running the ati-drivers in dual head mode and have the desktop lock applet on each panel.

however, when i lock the screen from the second desktop, the kscreensaver process seems to keep spawning over and over again. initially everything seems fine, but when i come back to my computer after some time, the load average is up around 8 with a ton of kscreensaver processes running.

anyone else with a similar set up experiencing this phenomenon?

at any rate, i checked the forums and kde's bug list but didn't see anything relevant.

thanks in advance! :)

well, i know what's causing it now... i have set the option to turn the screensaver on automatically after x minutes. if i lock my desktop from the second screen, at precisely x minutes, the phenomenon occurs. if i turn off this option, the phenomenon does not occur at all.

it seems that kde can't tell that the screensaver is already running and keeps trying to spawn new processes. this only happens when i lock the screen from the second desktop though. weird.
