I have a stanard emu10k1 w/ alsa SBLive 4.1. Powered sub with 4 channels. All works well but it almost seems like nothing is coming out of the rear speakers. I've unmuted and turned up everything but it doesn't seem to help.
Any suggestions? |

I have an audigy which probably makes no difference except for the center channel.
The ALSA drivers send stereo audio only to the front speakers (unlike the windows drivers which also send it to the rear channels which I don't like but I guess you do like it). However the rear speakers are available as seperate devices. When you do aplay -L you will get a list of pcm devices, on my system that gives this:
Code: | cards 'cards.pcm'
front 'cards.pcm.front'
rear 'cards.pcm.rear'
center_lfe 'cards.pcm.center_lfe'
surround40 'cards.pcm.surround40'
surround41 'cards.pcm.surround41'
surround50 'cards.pcm.surround50'
surround51 'cards.pcm.surround51'
iec958 'cards.pcm.iec958'
spdif 'cards.pcm.iec958' |
