DHCP under WIndows XP

I ran into a problem where my DHCP server was assigning the same address to both the bridge and and linux which caused quite a bit of havoc. I wasn't able to keep this from happening. I went in and assigned a MAC to the TAP adapter but it still kept happening. I wound up having to assign a static address to eth0 under linux which solved my connection issue. Anyone seen this DHCP issue and have a solution?

Sounds like an error on the DHCP server.

What DHCP server and client software are you using?
