Hope this is the right forum since im not sure my problem i hardware limited or that i missed a configuration in the script.

i will try to describe my problem as best as i can.

My local network consists of: a linux server, some windows desktops.
I configured my router to napt all traffic on port 80 to the server.
All trafic which comes from outside of the internet works.. people can log in and view the forum.
But when i try to view the forum from within my network i get this error ->

There has been an error loading http://localhost/phpBB2/login.php:

server didnt respond thein the time limit
Verbinding was naar hostname.myisp.com port 80

I tried altering the domain setting (in the phpbb2 configuration menu) to the servers name within my network. but when i do that noone can acces my forum from the internet. right now the domainsetting is set to: hostname.myisp.com

I think i understand the problem which should be something like a created loop from within my router. But the thing that i think is strange that no other scripts suffer from this problem. so my guess is that i missed a configuration somewhere... either in phpbb or somewhere in my server config... anyone any ideas?
:?:

you need to access the server with it's public domain name but the private IP address. To do this add an entry into the hosts file on all of your PCs, or direct them to a local dns server that resolves the public domain name to the local ip address.
Hosts file on a windows box works same as a linux one it's in
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
for an NT/2k/xp/2k3 box or
%windir%\system\drivers\etc\hosts
for a 9x/me box
