Installing Gentoo via Virtual PC 6.1 Mac: segfault on chroot

OK, I know this qualifies as "out there" in terms of normal (or not-so-normal) Gentoo usage. As the title states, I was attempting to do the "chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash" command, and simply got a segfault. So more generally, I was wondering if anyone else out there has had any manner of success running Gentoo via Virtual PC on a Mac.
