Ok, I recently pathed and installed the latest ivtv-r4. I tried to emerge MythTV and I am getting a Block when I do a emerge --pretend mythtv. Its saying the x11-xorg package is preventing the emerge.
1.) Is this a real issues (x.org doesnt work with mythtv)
2.) If so, going back to xfree  will fix?
3.) What about installing from sources at mythtv.org?
Any help is appreciated. |

| What is Xorg blocking? Is it blocking the whole of myth, or some other package? |

| I have mythtv-0.16 and the new xorg working together without any issues (or blocking when installing). |

Out of curiousity, how are you doing the emerge?
If you are currently running X11R6 and you're doing something along the lines of:

# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -uDav mythtv
|
you might be pulling in X.org as a dependency. Try adding

~media-tv/mythtv ~x86
~media-plugins/mythmusic ~x86
~www-apps/mythweb ~x86
~media-plugins/mythweather ~x86
~media-plugins/mythdvd ~x86
~media-plugins/mythgame ~x86
~media-plugins/mythvideo ~x86
~media-plugins/mythnews ~x86
~media-plugins/mythbrowser ~x86
~media-plugins/mythgallery ~x86
~media-tv/ivtv ~x86
|
to /etc/portage/package.keywords and you can avoid using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS, and that way you won't pull unstable dependencies. |
