hi
i am going through http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml , i want to be able to play midi files , i emerged every thing needed , but pmidi -l , gives me nothing.
bash-2.05b$ pmidi -l
Port Client name Port name
bash-2.05b$
any idea how to fix that? |

You have no midi devices present. Either you need to load
a driver for a midi hardware device or you need to do it in
software, i.e. use timidity.
What sound card are you using? Does it have onboard soundbanks? |
