I'd like to start a program either when Iog in, or when my x server is started, whichever is better. How can I do this?
PS: if it helps, the progs that I want to start are the xscreensaver daemon, and gkrellm2 _________________ Check out my...

well if you use Gnome (but I guess not) there are special program for that. 2ndly, I suggest you to write down programs in your .xinitrc file. btw, for daemons, there is /etc/conf.d/ and rc-update |

I know about rc-update, perhaps daemon wasn't the correct term. xscreensaver isn't in /etc/init.d/ .
