gftp. however, it's the best one for linux in general, not just gentoo. But this is entirely subjective. I say try out all those listed and figure out which best works for you. Then and only then, is it the "best"...

Torn between ncftp and gftp I guess I like ncftp a bit more .. Sometimes I'm in the mood for point and click (gftp) mostly command line though |

Anyone know of a good graphical FTP client for linux? I need to publish my web page, and I don't trust web page editors' "Publish" features. Oh yeah, and preferrably in portage, although it doesn't have to be. |

|
|
Hi,
I've been trying for some time now to make a reliable connection to my website's FTP server. I've tried several different graphical FTP clients, including axyftp, kasablanca, kbear and lftp (command line) and none of them will keep a stable connection with my FTP server. Please help! I need to download over 400Mbytes of files every month to back up my website and it's turning out to be a real headache.
In Windows I use "SmartFTP" which is great - very configurable and very stable. At the moment I'm seriously considering installing Wine on my Gentoo box so I can use SmartFTP again. But this seems crazy - there MUST be a decent graphical FTP client for Gentoo. Please help!
Happy Christmas,
Thanks,
Jack |

As "best" is an opinion, please search for other threads regarding which client to use. (Searching Dups will probably be easiest.) _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
