|
|
I just emerged Xorg and KDE and while everything worked surprisingly smooth a thing that bugs me is that right now I have to login at the console and then do startx. I'd rather have X start automatically and log in in graphical mode using KDM . How would I go about configuring this ?
Also, how can I get a Windows-style exit / logout menu (giving me the option to shutdown the machine from within KDE ? I remember having this back when I was still using SuSE Linux. Was convenient. |

Type this and kdm should boot up @ every start of your machine.
Code: | rc-update add xdm default |
Make sure your "/etc/rc.conf" points to kdm as login manager.
To start kdm imideatly (X not yet started!) use /etc/init.d/xdm start. |
