Hi, I have installed Gentoo (2004.2) but I cant make my eth0 work. Its a Broadcom 44xx.
I compiled my kernel with support for this model, but it doesnt work.
The eth0 is up, it takes an IP (static), I even can ping this IP (itself), but nothing else.
I dont even see the link lights on.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot _________________ MrAkuma - Pato[100%Q]

All I could guess would be that the card itself is not working, or you have some sort of firewall blocking pings. _________________ Change is inevitable, except when it comes to vending machines |

Recently had similar on a Dell laptop.
Works fine on the LiveCD, not after the 2.6.8-r3 2004.2 build.
Even tried to steal the module from the LiveCD, but it wouldn't load - invalid format IIRC.
Go to the Broadcom site and download their package - it's a zip that contains a source tar and an RPM (ignore the latter).
Compile and you're away. |
