I've been trying to renew the SSL certificate for my webserver, but I can't seem to find any good documentation out there. Everything I found on the web still makes my browser give an unknown certificate error. Anyone know the steps? _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

is it a self signed certificate or does someone else sign it for you? _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |

Its self signed, I guess, since I haven't ever setup anyone to sign one for me. I was going to try to setup a webDAV server and for the first time went to https://www.dirtboy.org and it told me my certificate was expired. I tried a few things I found on the web, but I just succeeded in making a certificate that cannot be validated. I just wanted to get a new one. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

well, you're just going to have to deal with the warning message then. the error is because you haven't paid anyone to sign your cert, so there is no "Signing Authority" that says you are who you say you are. I bought a SSL certificate this year from GoDaddy for 30$ a year right now and they'll walk you through the process. _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |
