I've been using the Active Directory & Samba guide for some weeks/months now without a problem.

It seems after I did an emerge sync and emerge -Du world, that winbindd has a problem. When I start smbd, winbindd is started but starts hogging 99% of the CPU. I have to kill it with killall -9 winbindd

I first noticed this when I tried to access the server, and the load reported to me as 52.x 51.x 50.x!!

I had to reboot, remove SMB from rc-update to allow the server to be stable again.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't have any errors in /var/log/samba/log.winbindd apart from these:

Code:
[2004/09/27 08:44:03, 1] libsmb/clikrb5.c:ads_cleanup_expired_creds(273)
krb5_cc_remove_cred failed, err Ccache function not supported: not implemented

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks,

Martin.
