First of all, great forum !! I hope to become a true Linux guru one day and help other poor n00bs
Here's my problem: if I try to edit the crontab for root with the command
I get this output:
Code: | no crontab for root - using an empty one
/tmp/crontab.22012: No such file or directory
|
And every time I invoke that command, the number in the output increases:
crontab.22013
In the man pages is says that if there is no crontab, the -e switch creates one, but not mine
I also tries 'exporting the var EDITOR':
Code: |
EDITOR=nano
export EDITOR
|
Then I get the same output |

Maybe a permissions problem on /tmp? _________________ The free market gave me gonorrhea. |

uhh... not that I can remember. Portage usually ends up creating it first. _________________ Tactless
