hi and welcome here!
There are "few" things you have to do to enter in the wonderfull world of linux.
For gentoo these few things are summed up in a nice guide you can follow here: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?full=1
however I advice you to start with a simpler distro. Gentoo is not really for noob in my oppinion.

ssnelgrove,
There is a very good install guide. It can be found here http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml
It takes you step by step through the installation process.
You may know nothing of linux now but you must be willing to learn to get the best from gentoo.
Post back here with specific questions when you get stuck. _________________ Regards,

ssnelgrove, if you want to install Gentoo, you have to read the installation guide very careful, I recommend reading it from beginning to end before you start with the installation.
But as you don't have any Linux experiences, I suggest trying another distro, like Suse, Redhat, Fedora, Mandrake etc. They have a graphical installation process like MS Windows. |

ssnelgrove,
You have a steep learning curve ahead if you want to use gentoo.
The install guide tells you word for word what you must do.
The fist thing to realise is that you will noy break your computer by typing things on its keyboard. You may lose you data but thats all.
Read the guide, do exactly as it says. Expeiment if you are not sure.
Many others will help you but nobody here is going to do your install for you, we have all done it (some several times).
You will get help and encoragement here but first you must help yourself.
Hint: The fdisk command is a good place to start. _________________ Regards,
