Not sure if I have completely wasted my time here, I hope not!
I've done a Stage 1 install right through to the end and rebooted.
Everything is working as I expect it to.
But, when doing the initial install, I didn't set the USE flags.
Now having set them, if I do an 'emerge system -p' I get nothing listed.
I know if I did this having set the USE flags during the intial install, I would have gotten a long list of everything that would be merged.
Is there some way I can get it to take into account the newly added flags, and produce the proper list again ?
I've done env-update and rebooted, but that doesnt make any difference. |

You might want to look at /etcc/make.profile/use.defaults. I would guess that maybe your just restating the defaults. Then you need to run "emerge world -uDvp" _________________ An A-Z Index of the Linux BASH command line |

That's toatally ok. There are little packages in system that can be customized using USE flags. (And what's already emerged isn't listed anymore => see man emerge for more options and background on switches)
What I suggest is: Code: | emerge -epvt system > system.out |
After having a look through the file identify the packages that do have changed USE flags and reemerge them manually. |
