fetchmail won't run deamonized?

Hi,

I recentely upgraded fetchmail to version 6.2.5 (emerge -u world) but now fetchmail appearantly does not want to run in the background:

While this works:
/usr/bin/fetchmail -d 60 -f /etc/fetchmailrc -N

this does not work:
/usr/bin/fetchmail -d 60 -f /etc/fetchmailrc

Also, it's not running at all in the background so I presume it dies on startup.

I do not get any error messages or strange things in the syslog. Unfortunately there is nog debug flag available for fetchmail. Is anybody else experiencing this or -better- does anybody have a solution?

The problem still exists and fetchmail still sillently quits on startup in deamonized mode.

I made a workaround running fetchmail through crontab; but I'd kinda like fetchmail to work properly...

Anybody got any thoughts about this?
