Default virtual alsa device to 2 sound devices

Hello,

I bought an usb headset today and it works fine on my laptop with another ali5451 sound device.

The only problem is that I have to configure most programs (xmms, xine,...) now to use a specific device (hw:0,0 or hw:1,0). Applications that don't support that choice go to the 'default' device (hw:0,0 ?).

Is it possible to define a virtual default device so that my sound goes to both the internal sounddevice AND my headset? Then I can choose what device should be playing with my mixer app kmix (ie the usb headset or laptop speakers).
