I just installed Gentoo and having a small problem with Grub: when the PC boots, I get the "grub>" prompt instead of the menu. typing "configfile (hd0,1)/grub/menu.1st" brings up the menu and I'm able to boot fine from that point, but why does it not come up automatically?
Read the previous posts I could find on the subject, and tried hardlinking menu.1st instead of symlinking it, and tried removing "/boot" from the paths, but no luck.. Other ideas? |

If it's not a typo, the filename is menu.lst. That's a lowercase letter L, not a number 1. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
