Hello, I'm a dual-booter.
I'm in a family network and I want the other computer to be accessible from my dualboot-station without windows. I know of the protocol samba and I have emerged it.
After that downloaded smb4k that is a very nice thing thought it could be nicer if it worked.

I see the other computer, the computers name. And when I try to retrieve the other computers share then I'm met by the error: "connection to <name>failed", and this is the detailed information about the error. :/
So what to do. In windows it works fine.

I dont recieve any ip either from this computer. Just the name.

I'm on a linux computer which i dualboot on gentoo/winxp. I want to reach my familys computer in the same local network.
I use smb4k and I see the other computer and its name. Though when I try to explore the computer (retrieve the sharelist) then I am met by a erro sign: "An error occurred while trying to get a list of shares!".

At the additional information about the "family"-computer there is no more than than the name of the computer. The ip-adress is unknown and also the OS and Server. Anyone know anything about the problem?
Please thank you.

Additional info: In my dualboot winxp I can download the sharelist without probs.
