Hello,
I have a problem with a DVD-ROM. It is missing from /dev directory and what is worse it is missing from kernel logs also(dmesg | grep DVD). When I boot from LiveCD....DVD-ROM is found and mounted, but when I boot from my HDD instalation it is missing. My DVD-ROM is ASUS DVD-E616P1.
|Interestingly, when I connect external USB CR-writer is recognized by kernel anbd appears in dmesg.
My DVD is mounted on secondary IDE as master, on the same IDE is installed aslo a second HDD....so DVD must be hdc and hardsik must be hdd.
When I try to mount directly from hdc a get error again for incorrect block device, which is normal, since this device is missing for the kernel.
I have also devfs support installed but not booted, and udev installed and working.
Anyone have an idea, what might me problem? Or from where to get config file LiveCD kernel to compare with my config for my kernel?
Regards
