Hi...

I'm trying to build a very little gentoo box just to be able to check mails, listen to some music, run Counter-Strike (a HL mod) using wine, and few other things... (In fact I already have a normal desktop gentoo box)

All bootstrap.sh, emerges (system and others) were ok... but when I start the HL installation using wine (under a light fluxbox install)... I can't have sound (when HL it trying to play a .wav).

My wine configuration (just a part of) looks like that :
-- snap --

[WinMM]
"Drivers" = "wineoss.drv"
"WaveMapper" = "msacm.drv"
"MidiMapper" = "midimap.drv"

-- snap --
On my real "big" gentoo box (that runs on the same computer), the same configuration permits to run HL well.

Whenever I run mp3baster or mpg123 all is running well ... when I'm playing good oggs I can even say it sounds well ! :wink:

Do you know where is the problem ?

PS: I'm very uspet... I tried with 2 or 3 different system installations... I tried lots of things like emerge artsd or other... plz, if you have just a little idea or suggestion, tell me !! :?

Try "chmod 0755 /dev/dsp" as root.
