ltmodem and kernel 2.6.8-r3 [SOLVED]

[linux_on_the_brain]

I get the following error when trying to load the ltmodem and ltserial modules on boot. I am using the current release of gentoo-dev-sources, 2.6.8-r3. I believe I have all the necessary components for serial compiled into my kernel. Any suggestions
