I would like to start running my system compiling w/ gcc3.0.x (what is it at, 3.0.4 now?). I hear it's a bad idea and that's fine. What do I need to do to bootstrap w/ gcc 3? Do I just remove it from the package.mask or do I need to specify it implicitly? Are there any major packages that we know for a fact will die when I try to emerge them w/ gcc 3? Does anyone have any other options they'd like me to enable for experimentation? I'm thinking about turing on ntfs writing in the kernel for testing also. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'll probably start on Tuesday or Wednesday and report back anything of interest. |

Try searching the mailing list archives as I know this issue has been discussed there before. (the search interface is down right now -- being moved to a new pipe)
