Monitor hardware raid status

I've recently setup a hardware raid-1 config on my pc and was now wondering if there are any linux utils available to monitor the status of the array ie: has one of the drives failed?

My motherboard is a Via KX600S Pro with hardware based SATA raid, and Via provide a windows based tool for this, but not a linux version.

The only way I can tell at the moment if a drive has failed, is by going into the bios at boot time and checking.

Has anyone come accross a tool for monitoring Via hardware raid health?
