Is there any way to read, and perhaps control, the temperature/fan sensors on my videocard?
I've an Asus A9600 XT (powered by ATI Radeon 9600 XT). It has a nasty little noisy fan on it which runs at like 4400 RPM by default, which emits an annoying high pitch noise sometimes. Under Windows, I was able to lower the fan speeds, using the Asus SmartDoc, to a reasonable sub-1500 RPM, without any significant temperature rise.
I've searched the forums and google, but I haven't found any information regarding videocard sensors. Plenty on board sensors, which I have working perfectly with lm-sensors. (Although it doesn't detect my very sexy Vantec PSU sensors, and neither did windows... If anyone has any wisdom for that side dish, feel free to throw it in.)
So, has anyone had any luck reading sensors off their videocard? Perhaps even non-ATI?
Thanks a bunch,
