|
|
Hi,
I just bought a Sil 680A based FakeRAID card, the card itself works fine... except that my machine won't boot!
I checked both my motherboard and the sil card have their latest bios, sil raid 3.2.10, in the card's case.
The weird thing is, if I leave the card in the machine, but disconnect the drives it will boot. When I connect my two 40GB harddrives it will simply hang at the following message: "Verifying DMI Pool Data ........'
Note that the harddrives are correctly detected.
My philosofy on this is that it's trying to boot from my first stripe but it can't, because I didn't install anything on it yet.
Anybody else have this problem? How did you solve this?
Regards,
Pascal de Bruijn
edit: I have no 'Boot from onboard IDE first' option in my BIOS! |

I'm having this now with my Asus A7n8X-E Deluxe mobo, just picked up 2x 80G Seagate Drives and slapped them in, if I boot off my ide drive it's fine works great in raid0 howevere when I remove the ide's and try to boot off the non-raid partition from sda1 it just sits there. |
